Today being an executive or board member is very risky business. That risk becomes even more complex in a private equity firm or venture capital firm. Although many entities have indemnification provisions in their by-laws or other corporate or fund documents, can an executive or board member safely rely on that protection?

Guest speaker, Heidi Lawson, will speak to us about the most common misunderstandings when it comes to indemnification and insurance and how executives and board members often find themselves unprotected in the midst of a government investigation or litigation. She will share best practices when it comes to indemnification provisions and where indemnification stops, insurance starts, and the potential gaps between the two. Heidi will discuss recent claim trends and provide a list of questions every executive and board member should be asking about their indemnification and insurance coverage. This will be an eye opening “not to be missed” event!
