Themed "Tough Tech & The 2040 Grid," the 2019 MIT Energy Conference will dive deep into electricity, with an emphasis on long-term thinking and the role of energy tech and power grids.

Power grids are changing. Generation and distribution are changing. A defining challenge of our time is how to steer these changes to minimize environmental harm and maximize affordable energy access. What should power grids look like in 2040? Agreement is not universal. At the 2019 MIT Energy Conference, leading experts will debate and share the reasons behind their disagreements. The conference will also include forward-looking tech perspectives from the world's leaders in cleantech venture capital and incubation as well as the four innovative start-up companies being featured at the Clean Energy Prize Finals. Mintz's own Ben Stone will serve as a judge for this year's Clean Energy Prize.
