Mintz Attorney Ellyn L. Sternfield to Present at American Conference Institute's Advanced Forum on Healthcare Provider Disputes

Ellyn L. Sternfield, Of Counsel in the Health Law Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo, P.C., will speak at the Advanced Forum on Healthcare Provider Disputes presented by the American Conference Institute. The forum will take place on Friday, March 7 in Miami, Florida.

Ms. Sternfield’s presentation is entitled, “Overcoming Challenges Caused by Program, RAC, ZPIC, and MIC Auditors and Contractors: Determining when a Finding of Fraud is Inappropriate and when to Challenge it.” During this session, Ms. Sternfield will address the role of government and contract auditors in the Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement process, and the process for challenging an audit determination.

Ms. Sternfield has more than 30 years of legal experience, with an extensive background in the field of government health care enforcement. Her experience enables her to provide valuable insight to clients facing potential state or federal investigations, or who have general compliance concerns. Ms. Sternfield currently represents a variety of health care product and service providers in federal and state administrative, civil, and criminal matters around the country. She conducts internal reviews and investigations for clients concerned about potential compliance issues. Ms. Sternfield advises clients on proposed or existing health care business arrangements, especially those involving Medicaid, Medicare, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program. She drafts compliance plans to help insulate clients from future whistleblower claims or enforcement efforts. Ms. Sternfield helps negotiate resolutions of matters brought under federal or state false claims acts.
