ML Strategies Expands Government Relations Practice with Addition of Cort Bush

Senior Aide to Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor Joins DC Office

ML Strategies, LLC, the consulting affiliate of the law firm Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC, is pleased to announce that Cort Bush, the Legislative Director for former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, has joined its Washington, D.C. office as Director of Government Relations.

As a senior aide to former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) Mr. Bush played a significant role in advancing legislation from each of the committees in the House of Representatives, and oversaw the legislative operation in the personal office of Representative Cantor. And as Senior Policy Advisor to former Representative Mary Bono (R-CA), the Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade, he worked to draft and advance important legislation on telecommunications, data breach notification, Internet governance, and cybersecurity.  He also worked extensively on technology, financial services, and tax policy issues.

“Cort earned the respect of some of the most prominent and powerful members of Congress through his ability to work collaboratively on complex and pressing policy issues,” said David J. Leiter, President of ML Strategies, Washington.  “His experience and reputation are a great addition to the deep bench of talent resident in ML Strategies’ D.C. and Boston offices. We are delighted he has decided to join us.”

Prior to his work for Representatives Cantor and Bono, Mr. Bush worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and for former Senator Gordon Smith.  He received his B.A. in Political Science from Washington State University.
