Pared-Down FDA-Fee Bill Moving With CR

Member Joanne Hawana was quoted in the National Journal discussing Congress' plan to reauthorize key user-fee programs that fund the Food and Drug Administration. Joanne commented, "There’s people in Congress who believe FDA is not being effective enough and I don’t think they’re going to let that go... When there are people that think FDA is not being effective, they’re going to continue on that quest to improve the problem that they see—so in this case I do think there’s enough people that have concerns about the accelerated-approval pathway as it currently exists that something is going to likely pop up again."
