Bigbelly (www.Bigbelly.com) is transforming waste collection, one of the least efficient and resource-intensive industries, but its comprehensive solutions reach far beyond bins. The company offers an enterprise approach to waste management deployments where representatives work with municipalities and campuses to build out waste station systems tailored to their needs. Customers can leverage the CLEAN Management Console, a single destination software dashboard, to capture data points on station fullness, collection frequency, route efficiency, and more. This provides the actionable data that leads its customers, located in every state and in over 50 countries worldwide, to realize greater operational efficiency.

Other Civil (Smart City) winners included:

  • Boston Public Market, which opened in July and now houses 40 small businesses and welcomes over 20,000 visitors every weekend.
  • Green City Growers, an urban farming business that has helped to install and maintain 60 rooftop farms and gardens across eastern Massachusetts, including on the roof of Fenway Park.
  • TUGG, a community engagement platform that connects technology entrepreneurs with social enterprises serving local under-resourced youth.

Great work, Bigbelly!  We look forward to continuing to watch you grow.
