Mintz Attorney Douglas Hauer to Speak at NASAA 2016 Corporation Finance Training

Douglas Hauer, Co-Chair of the EB-5 Financing Practice and a Member of the Corporate and Securities and Immigration Practices of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is speaking at the North American Securities Administrators Association’s (NASAA) 2016 Corporation Finance Training. The event is taking place November 18-19 at the Westin Oaks Hotel in Houston, TX.

Organized in 1919, NASAA is the oldest international organization devoted to investor protection. Its primary goal is to advocate and act for the protection of investors, especially those who lack the expertise, experience and resources to protect their own interests. The Corporation Finance Training brings together state securities regulators to review current trends and issues around state securities laws. The EB-5 Program is now more than ever before on the radar of state securities law regulators.

During his panel, Mr. Hauer will review the EB-5 investment program for immigrant entrepreneurs, and anti-fraud provisions. He will also discuss the potential for state securities regulators to become more involved in investment deals where investors have lost money, as the industry pushes into a new direction of securities compliance, due diligence, and third-party fund administration. He will be joined on the panel by William Mack from Greenberg Traurig, Nathaniel Orenstein from Berman DeValerio, and Peter Cassidy from the Massachusetts Securities Division.
