We are proud to announce that Mintz Levin Member Bill Whelan will be a panelist on the topic “Financing Life Sciences Companies — What’s Current and What’s New" at the 3rd Annual International Bar Association (IBA) World Life Sciences Conference, Philadelphia, PA (June 12 – 13, 2015).

About the Presentation

Financing life sciences ventures is very expensive. Long development cycles, high-dollar requirements to get to market, investors’ short investment horizons, roller-coaster product developments, and uncertain clinical trials outcomes can all pose special problems. And 2014 was a significant year for financing life sciences companies — through public and private transactions. The panel includes those in senior executive management, specialist corporate finance advisory services, venture capital, angel investing, and legal structuring, and they will share their experience in how it can be done. The topics will include current terms and standards for angel and VC financings, faster unconventional IPOs in the US, and the rise of other alternative funding sources such as foundations, patent portfolio participations, and partnering with larger companies in exchange for financial support.
