Jack Sylvia will speak at a Boston Bar Association event to be held on June 10, 2015.

The topic will be "The Current State of Secondary Actor Liability Under the Securities Laws: Auditors, Vendors, Aiders, Abettors, Oh My!"

Event Description:

Since the Supreme Court declared in Central Bank of Denver v. First National Bank of Denver in 1994 that investors could not sue those who aid and abet securities fraud, plaintiffs have sought ways to hold secondary actors liable for the misstatements and manipulative acts of others. Are they succeeding?

Learn whether the law has shifted on secondary actor liability claims against accountants, auditors, vendors, clearing brokers, and others who are often the target for this type of claim.
