Mintz Of Counsel Michelle Capezza will co-present Cybersecurity Risks for Employee Benefit Plans, a CLE webcast hosted by the New York City Bar.

During the program, she presented on two panels: "Do ERISA Fiduciary Duties and Liability Apply with Respect to Data Breaches?" and "Cybersecurity Measures for Employee Benefit Plans."

The dangers posed by hacking and other forms of Internet crime threaten almost every area of life, including employee benefit plans. This CLE program, which will include speakers from the US Department of Labor, will provide attendees with a deeper awareness of the many cyber threats to employee benefits plans, a better understanding of the laws that may apply to this area (such as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)), and security initiatives that lawyers can recommend to benefit plan sponsors and fiduciaries.

Speakers

Michelle is an accomplished employee benefits and executive compensation lawyer with more than 25 years of experience advising clients on ERISA, benefits, and executive compensation matters, including in connection with corporate transactions.
