Joe Miller, Member and Co-chair of the firm's Antitrust Practice, will be a speaker on a webinar hosted by the American Health Law Association titled, "Impact of Presidential Executive Order on Competition Preservation in the Health Care Industry," on August 18. The panel will provide an overview of the recently issued Presidential Executive Order on Competition Preservation, focusing on the impact on the health care industry. The discussion will encompass the EO's recommendations pertaining to looser licensing requirements for health care professionals, tighter regulation of hospital mergers and other health care transactions, and proposed regulatory changes regarding pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Additionally, the panel will provide an industry and an economic perspective on reduced reliance on the consumer welfare standard to evaluate the competitive impact of mergers and other business practices.
