Anthony Mulrain is a sports and entertainment litigator and a Member in the Mintz New York office. He recently published an article in Sports Business Journal addressing the key legal issues of esports, particularly with regard to the coming launch of NBA 2K, the first esports league operated by a U.S. professional sports league. Some of these issues include emancipation, due to the youthful age of some esports players; term of agreement; intellectual property ownership; conduct; required athletic services; and promotional activities.
