Mintz Attorney Jonathan A. Shapiro to Speak at Massachusetts Biotechnology Counsel’s Executive Group Roundtable

Jonathan A. Shapiro, Head of West Coast Litigation for Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is presenting at the Massachusetts Biotechnology Counsel’s (MassBio) inaugural Executive Group Roundtable. The event will take place on Thursday, September 24 at MassBio’s headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

The title of Mr. Shapiro’s presentation is, “In-House Attorney-Client Privilege 101: What's Protected, What's Not, and How to Not Fall In-Between the Cracks.”

MassBio is an association of more than 600 biotechnology companies, universities, academic institutions and other organizations dedicated to advancing cutting edge research. The organization’s mission is to work to provide all segments of the membership and the life sciences community with a forum for professional development, education, and networking.  The General Counsel Executive Group was created to better serve senior legal professionals.

Mr. Shapiro’s practice is focused on the defense of business and securities litigation and government enforcement actions. He has successfully litigated class actions, challenges to corporate transactions and governance, and other matters regarding allegations of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, including jury and bench trials. Mr. Shapiro’s clients include public and financial services companies, officers and directors, and investment bankers. He also serves as counsel defending and conducting internal investigations to those subject to enforcement action under the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, FINRA, and other government agencies and self-regulatory organizations.
