Mintz to Host Panel Discussion: Do Newspapers Have a Future?

Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. is hosting a panel discussion on the future of the newspaper industry entitled “Do Newspapers Have a Future?  The Dramatic Changes That Have Up-Ended the Media Business and Revolutionized How We Receive Our News.” The event is taking place on Tuesday, December 3rd in Mintz’s Boston office and begins at 8:00 am.

Panelists for the discussion include Joe Sciacca, Editor in Chief of the Boston Herald, Stephen Mindich, Publisher, CEO and Chairman of Phoenix Media/Communications Group and Thomas Fiedler, Dean of the College of Communication and Professor of the Practice in Journalism at Boston University.   Jeffrey Robbins, a Member in the Litigation Practice of Mintz, will moderate the panel.

The program will address such questions as:

  • How will newspapers survive given the collapse of their traditional business model?
  • What impact do the changes in the news business have on television, radio and internet news?
  • How do the changes in the business of media affect the civic and political life of greater Boston and the broader New England region?
