Senator William “Mo” Cowan to Give Keynote Address at Anti-Defamation League’s 2014 Torch of Liberty Award Dinner

U.S. Senator William “Mo” Cowan, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ML Strategies, the government relations and strategic consulting affiliate of international law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. , where the Senator is Of Counsel, will be the keynote speaker at the Anti-Defamation League of New England’s 2014 Torch of Liberty Award Dinner. The event, honoring Richard Caturano, National Leader of Culture, Diversity and Inclusion at McGladrey LLP, will take place on November 19 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Anti-Defamation League of New England serves Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Region supports a multi-faceted educational, community relations, and legal effort to combat anti-Semitism and hate of all kinds, promote diversity, and build bridges to other groups and communities. The Torch of Liberty Award is given annually to business leaders in the community who demonstrate a commitment to these ideals. Mr. Caturano is being recognized for his work in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace and creating an example for the community at large.

Senator Cowan returned to Mintz Levin in November 2013 following his tenure as interim U.S. Senator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a seat Governor Patrick appointed him to fill after it was vacated by Secretary of State John F. Kerry.  He previously served as Governor Patrick’s Chief Legal Counsel and, later, Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor.  Prior to that, Senator Cowan was a Member in the Boston office of Mintz Levin where he represented a diverse array of commercial clients in business and regulatory matters.
