Mintz Sponsors U.S. Department of Energy’s 2014 National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition

The Department of Energy’s National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition, designed to build a network of student-focused business creation across the country, is currently ongoing in Washington, D.C. Mintz is pleased to host the first day of the competition at its Washington, D.C. office on June 11.

Mintz will welcome Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz to deliver the keynote address. On June 12, Thomas R. Burton, III, Chair of Mintz’s Energy Technology Practice, will participate in a panel discussion on clean technology start-ups.

The National Clean Energy Business Plan Competition started in 2011 as part of the Obama Administration’s Startup America Initiative. The winners from six regional competitions are now convening in D.C. to compete for the Grand Prize. This year’s regional winners include teams from MIT, the University of Houston, the University of Colorado Boulder, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
