Sunrise Period Ends on October 28th for .XXX Domains

Only two days remain to submit applications to block registration of .xxx domain names that include registered trademarks.  For more information about this process, see our prior blog posts on the issue here.  According to Domain Name Wire, ICM Registry (the operator of the .xxx gtld) has already taken in $10 million for the .xxx launch even though general registration does not begin until December 6th.  According to ICM Registry's recent press release,  as of October 24th, ICM Registry had received 42,000 applications for .XXX domain names since the September 7, 2011 launch of the Sunrise Period.  In the remaining days, thousands more applications are likely to flood in.  So, get those applications in.  The Sunrise period ends on Friday, October 28th.
