Kimberly is a Technical Advisor at the firm and holds a PhD in chemistry. She has experience in evaluating and developing innovative chemical and diagnostic technologies, with a research focus on molecular imaging, bioorthogonal chemistry, chemical sensing, PET tracers, and MRI contrast agents. She has designed and synthesized novel imaging probes and sensors, analyzed structure-function relationships, and collaborated with multidisciplinary research teams to advance diagnostic applications.
Kimberly’s scientific background includes extensive technical writing, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. Her experience evaluating novelty, distinguishing emerging technologies from prior research, and communicating complex scientific concepts helps support clients across the life sciences and chemical sectors.
Prior to joining Mintz, Kimberly was a Stanford Molecular Imaging Scholars (SMIS) postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, where she developed enzyme-responsive PET probes for the detection of cellular senescence. She previously conducted doctoral research at the University of California, Davis, where she synthesized spiropyran-based derivatives for the chemical sensing of glutathione or copper(II), as well as their application as activatable MRI contrast agents.
Kimberly earned her PhD in chemistry from the University of California, Davis and a BS, cum laude, from Sonoma State University.
