Kumar is a seasoned intellectual property litigator with a strong track record representing multinational companies in high-stakes disputes across diverse industries, including consumer goods, medical devices, software, semiconductors, electric batteries, and telecommunications. His experience spans the development and execution of winning strategies for complex IP cases, day-to-day case management, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, conducting and defending critical fact and expert depositions, and preparing and examining witnesses at trial.

In addition to his litigation practice, Kumar is committed to pro bono work. He has advocated for the rights of veterans and asylum seekers through partnerships with organizations such as Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, Equip for Equality, the Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, and the National Veterans Legal Services Program.

Kumar earned his JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University. Prior to law school, he earned a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS, magna cum laude, in electrical engineering from Duke University.

He is based in the Boston office.
