Matt oversees the team developing best-in-class practices and operational functions for the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, ensuring seamless alignment between business objectives and client service.
He has more than 20 years of experience in IP operations and law firm management. Prior to working at Mintz, he served as chief operating officer of a boutique IP firm and director of IP operations at an international firm, where he led modernization initiatives, optimized financial controls, and introduced AI-driven tools to enhance workflow. In addition, he managed a global team supporting over 150 patent practitioners and 20 trademark attorneys. Matt’s leadership included developing best-practice frameworks, strengthening USPTO relationships, and streamlining resource management.
He also served as a nuclear machinist mate / engineering laboratory technician in the US Navy.
Matt earned an MPS in law firm management from the George Washington University and a BS, summa cum laude, in business administration from Kaplan University.
He is based in the Washington, DC office.
