The Situation

Since 1978, the firm has worked with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in a variety of roles including bond counsel and disclosure counsel. The Approach

Recently, we served as bond counsel and disclosure counsel in connection with a combination new money and refunding transaction in the total aggregate amount of $726 million.   The Commonwealth issued a series of new money bonds in principal amount of $500 million to finance various capital projects of the Commonwealth and a current refunding of existing bonds in the principal amount of $226 million.  The Bonds were sold through a negotiated sale.

Additionally, we served as bond counsel and disclosure counsel on a complex $1.5 billion revenue anticipation note transaction. The transaction was sold through a competitive process and ultimately placed in 23 pieces to 7 different purchasers.
 

The Outcome

Our team provides comprehensive bond and disclosure services on bond and note deals to the Commonwealth, seamlessly coordinating with the various Commonwealth offices, underwriters and purchasers to consummate transactions effectively and efficiently.
