Mintz Attorney Kanasha Herbert Selected for Women’s Bar Association’s 2013-2014 Women’s Leadership Initiative

Kanasha S. Herbert, an attorney in the Corporate & Securities Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., was recently selected by the Women’s Bar Association (WBA) of Massachusetts to participate in its annual Women’s Leadership Initiative. Ms. Herbert is one of 17 attorneys selected as members of the 2013-2014 class.

Launched in 2009, the Women’s Leadership Initiative brings together senior women attorneys and up and coming stars of the legal profession for mentoring and leadership development. The program leverages the experiences of accomplished women attorneys in Massachusetts interested in cultivating the next generation of women leaders. The WBA provides participants with large-scale networking, group mentoring and one-on-one career development opportunities.

Ms. Herbert’s practice includes working with public companies and early-stage companies in matters such as corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. For public companies including medical device manufacturers, hardware manufacturers, and digital data imaging and software simulation companies, Ms. Herbert has served as ongoing general counsel on issues related to initial and follow-on public offerings and compliance with federal securities laws and securities exchange listing standards. For early-stage companies, mostly in the life sciences and technology industries, she has provided counsel on formation and corporate governance and has drafted and negotiated various venture capital transaction documents representing both companies and venture capital investors.
