Mintz’s Tom Burton Moderates Panel at Impact Capitalism Summit

Mintz Member and Chair of the Energy & Sustainability practice Tom Burton led a panel, “Building a Larger Tent to Mobilize Capital & Exert Influence,” at Big Path Capital’s annual Impact Capitalism Summit. The event is the largest gathering of investors focused on maximizing impact and maximizing return across asset classes.

Mr. Burton’s panel featured Emma Howard Boyd, Chair of the United Kingdom’s Environment Agency, and Andrea Strimling Yodsampa, Founder and CEO of DEPLOY/US. The panel’s discussion focused on how the energy investment sector can generate reliable returns, even at a time when the development of policy that could encourage capital deployment towards renewable energy, is being drastically scaled back.

Mr. Burton focuses his global practice on complex corporate finance matters including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, and securities transactions. He devotes a portion of his practice to counseling social enterprise companies, impact investors, and nonprofit companies.

The Energy & Sustainability Practice has completed more than 500 transactions across energy sectors totaling over $7.5 billion since 2006. Serving more than 250 clients, spanning the ecosystem from emerging companies to large corporations, venture capital and private equity funds, investment banks, project developers, and family offices, the firm is recognized nationally as a leading law firm in the space.
