Will the Halliburton-Baker Hughes Deal Survive a Justice Department Challenge?”

Bruce Sokler, Chair of Mintz’s Antitrust Practice, is quoted in The Street in a discussion of the Halliburton-Baker Hughes deal, announced in November, 2014, which would involve the second and third largest companies in the oilfield services industry merging. The deal has created concern over the possibility of a monopoly, causing the Department of Justice (DOJ) to file a civil antitrust lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Delaware in an attempt to block the merge.
