Doris is a registered patent agent who focuses on patent prosecution and counseling. She is a chemist with experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a background in medicinal chemistry and structure-guided chemistry.
Before joining Mintz, Doris was a scientist at Dart NeuroScience, a San Diego pharmaceutical company that specialized in memory disorder. In that role, she worked on structure-activity relationship studies related to a phosphodiesterase inhibitor for the improvement of memory-related disorders and used computational tools to design scaffolds for cognitive therapeutic targets.
In her Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Doris collaborated on an investigation focused on utilizing continuous flow technology to streamline the synthesis of the antiretroviral drug tenofovir.
