Lara focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, investigations, dispute resolution, and complex arbitrations. She represents clients across a variety of industries in matters involving business disputes, financial services issues, insurance and title-related claims, regulatory concerns, and other high-stakes litigation. Drawing on more than two decades of experience in both private practice and in-house legal roles, Lara provides strategic, business-oriented counsel that aligns legal objectives with broader organizational goals.
Prior to joining Mintz, Lara worked as counsel at a boutique litigation firm. She also served as vice president and associate litigation counsel at a national financial services company, where she managed a significant litigation portfolio and counseled senior leadership on legal risk, compliance, and dispute resolution. She worked closely with business, compliance, claims, and underwriting teams to develop policies, respond to regulatory and investigative matters, and resolve complex disputes. Earlier in her career, Lara represented financial services and pharmaceutical clients in commercial, securities, antitrust, and False Claims Act litigation at large international firms.
Lara earned her JD, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a notes and articles editor at the Fordham Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. She received a BA in economics from the University of Rochester.
