Scott represents both domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in all phases of insurance coverage matters, including claim investigations, coverage evaluations, and dispute resolution. His practice spans a broad range of complex coverage issues, where he brings a multifaceted perspective informed by extensive litigation experience.
He counsels clients on an array of insurance products, including directors and officers liability, professional liability, employment practices liability, property and casualty coverage, representations and warranties coverage, and fidelity bonds.
Before joining Mintz, Scott was a partner at a boutique firm, where he helped establish its New York presence and supported its professional and financial lines coverage practice. He also held senior and associate roles within the financial institutions and directors and officers practice of an international law firm, leading teams handling high-exposure coverage disputes in state and federal courts.
Following law school, Scott clerked for the Honorable Anthony Trenga of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Scott earned his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an articles editor for the Virginia Law Review. Prior to law school, he earned a BA, cum laude, in biology and environmental studies from Dartmouth College.
