Mintz Levin's Colleen Murphy and Miyoko Sato will speak on a panel at the Education Committee of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts Advanced Seminar on Higher Education.

Panel Description

School of Hard Knocks: Distressed Higher Ed

For some time experts have been predicting an increase in defaults by higher education institutions. As some of those predictions become reality we will explore some of the reasons for the increase in distress and lessons learned from recent experiences. This panel will review the general landscape of education credits including at-risk and success indicators and trends in security features and covenant structures. We will address issues specific to women’s colleges and historically black colleges and universities and will discuss recent case studies of defaulted deals.
