Mintz Adds Ed Pease and Laurence Naughton to its Emerging Growth Corporate Practice in Boston

Mintz has added further depth to its corporate team with the addition of prominent high-tech attorneys, Ed Pease and Laurence Naughton as Members. They join from WilmerHale and Choate Hall & Stewart LLP, respectively, each with more than two decades of experience.

Mr. Pease advises high-growth companies in connection with, equity structuring, capital raising transactions, intellectual property protection, and complex commercial transactions, including joint ventures, license agreements and strategic partnerships. He also has significant mergers and acquisitions experience, having completed buy and sell-side engagements involving more than $10 billion in transaction value. In addition, Mr. Pease represents venture capital funds, private equity and angel investors in a range of financing transactions.

Mr. Pease is listed in Best Lawyers in America, is a prior winner of an International Law Office Client Choice Award for his M&A work and was nominated to the Companyon Ventures 2018 Boston Founders’ Short List for Most Recommended Start-Up Corporate Lawyers.

Mr. Naughton regularly represents high-growth companies, including those in the technology industry, as well as venture capital, private equity and other investors in those companies. He has extensive M&A experience, representing both financial and strategic acquirers as well as targets. He has uniquely extensive experience on cross-border matters, as he regularly counsels non-U.S. clients in connection with their U.S. activities, and has deep relationships in the European investment community.

Having served on the executive committee and as a co-chair of a practice group at his prior firm, Mr. Naughton is listed in Best Lawyers in America, and has been listed on numerous occasions in The Legal 500 for middle-market M&A work, as well as in Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in the areas of corporate law and M&A. He was the lead attorney in representing KB Medical in its sale to Globus Medical, a transaction that was named “Cross Border Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year” in 2018 by The M&A Advisor.
