Mintz Adds Former ITC Senior Attorney-Advisor to IP Practice, Further Strengthening Life Sciences and Innovation Capabilities

WASHINGTON, DC – Mintz is pleased to welcome Michael Leib, former senior attorney-advisor to multiple commissioners at the US International Trade Commission (ITC), to the firm's Intellectual Property Practice as a Member in its Washington, DC, office.

“Michael is widely recognized for his deep knowledge of the ITC and his significant contributions to the development of Commission precedent over the past decade,” said Bob Bodian, Managing Partner of Mintz. “Having shaped hundreds of Commission decisions, he brings clients an extraordinary perspective on the legal and strategic issues that drive outcomes in high-stakes disputes. As innovation continues to accelerate across life sciences, technology, and other dynamic industries, Michael's experience further strengthens our ability to deliver strategic, business-focused counsel.”

Michael's practice draws on significant experience at the intersection of complex commercial disputes, international trade, and regulatory matters. During more than a decade at the ITC, he advised multiple commissioners on hundreds of Section 337 investigations involving a broad range of technologies and industries. Through that work, he engaged extensively with the core substantive issues that define ITC practice, including patent infringement, invalidity, domestic industry, importation, remedy, bonding, and public interest considerations.

“I was drawn to Mintz because of its premier ITC practice, collaborative culture, and continued growth in the life sciences sector,” said Michael. “Having worked on hundreds of Section 337 investigations, I developed a deep understanding of the legal and strategic considerations that drive outcomes before the ITC. I'm excited to use that experience to help clients protect their interests, navigate complex disputes, and achieve their business objectives.”

Michael's arrival follows the addition of former ITC Co-chair Robert Vlasis earlier this year, further solidifying Mintz's position as a destination practice for sophisticated ITC and intellectual property matters.
