Mintz Attorney Michael T. Renaud to Speak at 2016 IP Dealmakers Forum

Michael T. Renaud, Division Head for the Intellectual Property Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., is speaking on a panel at the 2016 IP Dealmakers Forum. The event is taking place November 17 at the Apella Event Space at Alexandria Center in New York City.

The IP Dealmakers Forum is designed to connect investors with intellectual property information and opportunities. The event explores the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly changing IP marketplace and attracts an elite set of IP market participants and dealmakers from the finance, legal and business communities. Attendees have ample opportunities to connect, exchange information and best practices, and, most importantly, further dealmaking during extended networking breaks and one-to-one meetings.

During his panel, Mr. Renaud will discuss effective partnering strategies for corporate IP monetization, including making the decision to partner or not and how best to structure a partnering deal. He will be joined on the panel by other leaders in the space: Courtney Quish, VP of Patent Strategy for Rovi Corporation; Marc Fechette, SVP & Senior Counsel for WiLAN; Shival Virmani, Assistant GC (IP and Licensing) for SanDisk Corp; and Ralph Eckardt, Managing Partner of 3LP Advisors.

Mr. Renaud is an experienced litigator known for his business approach to creating value in patent assets. His success on behalf of clients comes from his ability to identify the value drivers in a portfolio and communicate that value to competitors, investors, purchasers, licensees, counsel, judges, and juries. With a background in mechanical engineering and nearly 20 years’ experience practicing law, Mr. Renaud has the combination of technical and legal skills essential to a strategic patent practice. He has achieved courtroom victories and negotiated favorable settlements on behalf of both patent owners and accused infringers in complex negotiations and protracted litigation.
