Mintz Attorney Susan J. Cohen Honored by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

Susan J. Cohen, founder and Chair of the Immigration Section of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been named a 2013 “Top Women of Law” honoree by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.  The award recognizes attorneys “who have made great professional strides and demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in private practice, the corporate arena and social advocacy.”

Ms. Cohen, a two-time honoree, is one of five attorneys selected to be inducted into the “Circle of Excellence.” According to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, this designation is reserved for women who continue to exemplify excellence through “professional, civic and mentoring achievements year in and year out in the Massachusetts legal community.”

Award recipients will be honored in a special section in an upcoming edition of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and at an awards luncheon to be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

Ms. Cohen is actively involved in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has chaired and co-chaired a wide range of national AILA committees, including the National Planning Committee for AILA’s Annual Immigration Law Conference. She also serves on the review board for AILA periodicals.  Ms. Cohen serves as the ABA’s liaison to the Department of Labor on immigration-related issues.  She is a frequent panelist at AILA, ABA, and other immigration-related conferences, and a contributor to AILA, ABA, and other immigration-related publications. Ms. Cohen is the President of the Board of Directors of the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project.
