Mintz to Host Panel on Financing for Start-Ups

Co-Chairs of the firm’s Venture Capital & Emerging Companies Practice to Speak

Brady Berg and Jeremy D. Glaser, Co-Chairs of the Venture Capital & Emerging Companies Practice of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will participate in a panel discussion entitled, “Looking to Raise Capital for Your Start-Up?” The event will take place on Tuesday, October 14 at Mintz’s San Diego office. 

Panelists will explain what angel investors, venture capitalists, and corporate investors look for in making an investment, how to increase the chances of getting a meeting with the right person who can make the investment decision, and what to do to improve the chances of getting the deal closed. Mr. Berg and Mr. Glaser will be joined by Jeff (J.D.) Davids, Managing Partner at Fronis Group, LLC, Tom Tullie, Chairman and CEO of ecoATM, and Patrick Hazel, Senior Advisor at MidSummer Advisors.

Mr. Berg works with emerging growth companies and venture capital and private equity investors in a variety of fields, including clean technology and renewable energy, software, semiconductors, digital media, and Internet security. He has represented companies and investors in a broad range of general corporate and transactional matters, including venture capital financings, public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions with an aggregate transaction value in excess of $2 billion.

Mr. Glaser routinely assists his clients in growing their businesses and obtaining financing, guiding companies from initial organization through angel and venture capital financings, initial public offerings, strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions. He regularly represents technology-based companies principally in the software, mobile applications, clean energy, medical device and life science fields. Mr. Glaser represents both issuers and underwriters in a wide variety of securities transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings, and private placements, and represents venture capital firms, hedge funds and their portfolio companies in venture capital and PIPE financings.
