Official Says EPA Will Reopen Cleanups For PFAS On 'Case-By-Case Basis'

Environmental Law Chair, Jeff Porter, spoke to Inside EPA about the announcement that the EPA will reopen cleanups for PFAS-contaminated sites on a case-by-case basis. He concluded this concerted push for reopenings could have monumental implications.

Jeff said, “PFAS are so ubiquitous in the environment, there are countless sites that have already been remediated to account for other things that undoubtedly have concentrations of PFAS that are of concern…responsible parties are going to have to address those PFAS, perhaps interfering with site reuses at some of those sites is already occurring. It’s going to have massive implications.”
