Member Charles Samuels was quoted in The Bond Buyer discussing the municipal bond tax exemption, which was preserved in the initial draft of the Republicans' budget reconciliation bill despite earlier speculation about related reforms.

Chuck says, "The legislative debate is far from over but there is no question that there has been a huge accomplishment by the municipal bond community to escape the committee unscathed...Certainly though in the nonprofit field, universities and hospitals are taking very significant hits, and that needs to be recognized as well."
