Kienan Christianson concentrates his practice on health law, with a focus on health care regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse matters, and health care–related litigation. He has experience advising health insurers and health care organizations on complex federal and state regulatory requirements, including billing and reimbursement compliance, provider oversight, privacy, artificial intelligence, and enforcement risk.
Kienan works closely with clients to design and implement compliance programs, manage regulatory and litigation risk, and respond to government inquiries. His practice includes advising on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse enforcement, negotiating and reviewing vendor and provider contracts, overseeing regulatory responses to data incidents, and addressing emerging issues related to digital health and artificial intelligence governance.
Prior to joining Mintz, Kienan held senior in-house legal and compliance roles at regional health insurers, where he advised executive leadership on regulatory strategy, investigations, and operational compliance. Earlier in his career, he practiced as a litigation associate, representing public entities and private clients in complex litigation and high-stakes investigations, including matters before state supreme courts. He also served as a federal judicial law clerk and a state supreme court law clerk.
Kienan earned his JD, magna cum laude, from New York Law School and his BA from Western Washington University.
He is based in the New York office.
