Sam is an intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on patent litigation in the federal district courts. She works with clients in a variety of industries, including life sciences and technology. Of particular note is her work advising a company in the chemicals space on a complex licensing arrangement with international licensees.

Sam originally joined Mintz as a Summer Associate, during which time she contributed to trade secret litigation, authored a Law360 article on terminal disclaimers, and assisted with venue transfer strategies in patent cases. Prior to that, she worked with a student law clinic advising entrepreneurs on trademark and copyright issues, and completed a legal internship in the Office of General Counsel of a major international corporation, focusing on global data privacy compliance and registered IP education.

Sam earned her JD, cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, where she was president of the Intellectual Property Law Society and received the Edward F. Hennessey Distinguished Scholar Award and the Dean’s Award for Patent Law. Prior to law school, she earned a BA, summa cum laude, from Northeastern University.

Sam is based in the Boston office.
