At this year’s Consero IP Forum for Life Sciences, Mintz IP Litigation Member Siegmund Gutman will be hosting a session titled, “KnowledgeBridge: Unlocking Value Through Method-of-Manufacture Patents: Strategic Litigation and Patent Claiming Considerations.” This session will discuss:

  • How can method-of-manufacture patents be structured to effectively block infringing imports, especially in light of shifting global manufacturing trends?
  • What are some practical strategies for early-stage versus mature life sciences companies to leverage process innovations in their patent portfolios?
  • In what ways can patent and trade secret protections complement each other in broader enforcement campaigns, particularly at venues like the ITC?
  • How do structural limitations in claims enhance infringement arguments, and what are some examples of this in biologics or small molecule contexts?
