Mintz Member Susan Finegan Appointed to Dartmouth College Board of Trustees

Mintz is pleased to share that Member and Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee Susan M. Finegan has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College. She will serve a four-year term beginning on July 1.

Appointed Mintz’s first Pro Bono Partner in 2007, Ms. Finegan serves as lead counsel on numerous high profile pro bono litigation matters. She also manages the firm’s pro bono efforts, consisting of over 300 varied cases annually throughout eight offices, and advises firm clients on developing and sustaining pro bono programs within their in-house legal departments.

Ms. Finegan also has extensive nonprofit board and commission experience in the Massachusetts legal community, including previous appointments as Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct, Chair of the Merit Selection Panel for the US District Court, Chair of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee Pro Bono Legal Services, and member of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, and in board roles for several bar associations and legal services organizations. She currently serves as a member and Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission, serving as a tireless and innovative advocate for low-income and disadvantaged people in Massachusetts and beyond.

Ms. Finegan earned her bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth. She has considerable volunteer service to the college throughout the years, for which she has received both the Dartmouth Alumni Award and the Dartmouth Young Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Notably, she is one of only a handful of alumni to have received both.
