Mintz Member and Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee Susan M. Finegan has been named a law firm honoree in the Collaborative Leadership Category of Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel’s 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards.

These awards honor general counsel, in-house leaders and law firm partners who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law and who have displayed extraordinary leadership and business acumen. In particular, Ms. Finegan was selected in the Collaborative Leadership Category, which serves to spotlight women who stand out as working well with others – the “team players.”

As Chair of Mintz’s Pro Bono Committee, Ms. Finegan serves as lead counsel on numerous high profile pro bono litigation matters. She also manages the firm’s pro bono efforts, consisting of over 300 varied cases annually throughout Mintz’s eight offices, and advises firm clients on developing and sustaining pro bono programs within their in-house legal departments. She is also a member and current co-chair of the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission, serving as a tireless and innovative advocate for low-income people in Massachusetts and beyond.

Ms. Finegan has been immensely active in the legal community over the course of her decorated career. In addition to Co-chairing the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission, she has served as Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on Judicial Conduct, Chair of the Merit Selection Panel for the US District Court, Chair of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee Pro Bono Legal Services, a member of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, and in board roles for several bar association and legal service organizations.

Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel will feature profiles of this year’s honorees in their December issue and recognize them at an awards dinner on October 16 as part of their Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Washington, D.C. View the full honoree list here.
