Mintz Receives 2026 Economic Justice Champion Award from Lawyers for Civil Rights
Mintz has been recognized by Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) with its 2026 Economic Justice Champion Award, which honors leaders working to close the racial wealth gap and foster entrepreneurship in under-resourced communities.
The award was accepted on behalf of the firm by Joshua Fox, co-lead of Mintz's work with LCR's BizGrow initiative alongside Alexander Civetta.
For years, Mintz has been a resolute pro bono partner to BizGrow, providing transactional legal support to small business owners and entrepreneurs. Through the partnership, Mintz attorneys have contributed hundreds of hours of pro bono service, supporting entrepreneurs through direct legal representation, educational programming, and practical legal resources designed to help businesses grow and succeed.
“This award underscores the important role the private sector can play in advancing economic opportunity through strategic pro bono partnerships that help entrepreneurs and small businesses succeed,” said Susan Finegan, Chair of Mintz’s Pro Bono Committee.
“Our partnership with BizGrow is a powerful example of how legal services can help strengthen businesses and communities,” Josh said. We’re grateful to Lawyers for Civil Rights for this recognition and proud to support their important work.”
Most recently, Mintz supported the development of key legal tools and agreements for BizGrow Central, LCR's new entrepreneurship hub, helping strengthen the infrastructure for expanded small business programming.
Lawyers for Civil Rights is a nonprofit organization that advances equal opportunity through legal advocacy, education, and community partnerships. Joshua and Mathilda McGee-Tubb serve on the organization's Board of Directors.
