Sam is a registered patent agent who focuses on patent prosecution and counseling. His practice encompasses drafting and prosecuting patent applications, assisting with patentability analyses, and responding to US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) actions. He has experience in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering.

Prior to joining Mintz, Sam was a patent agent at a Virginia-based intellectual property law firm. Earlier, he was a mechanical engineer at a heating, air conditioning, and plumbing company in Colorado.

While an undergraduate, Sam had internships with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a Brooklyn, New York company focused on haptics, or touch-based, technology. He also co-founded a company that makes kombucha drinks sustainably, with all-organic, local ingredients.
