Alison has deep experience in advanced estate planning techniques to reduce income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. In her practice Alison utilizes trusts and other estate planning vehicles to accomplish sophisticated tax planning  - whether planning for an imminent liquidity event, such as the sale of a family business or other significant asset, or designing and implementing long-term strategies to efficiently transfer wealth to future generations consistent with her clients’ legacy goals. 

Alison regularly guides fiduciaries and beneficiaries through trust administration, estate settlements, and dispute resolution, utilizing methods to modify trusts nonjudicially, through decanting, or judicially where needed.

The lifetime federal tax exemption for gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes is scheduled to be reduced to approximately $6 million on January 1, 2026, from $11.58 million per individual or $23.16 million collectively for a married couple.
