Angela Kung Appointed to Co-Lead Mintz’s TechComm Practice

BOSTON – Mintz is pleased to announce the appointment of Member Angela Y. Kung to co-lead the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media practice alongside existing Chair Tara M. Corvo.

The appointment took effect April 2, 2023, the start of Mintz’s fiscal year, and is in response to the significant growth the practice has experienced recently.

“Angela’s has been integral to our Tech-Comm practice, and she has the skills and qualities to lead us to even greater heights,“ said Managing Member Bob Bodian.  “We are seeing activity in the space from a diverse set of clients, and anticipate that will be the case moving forward, making Angela’s appointment an essential one to continue to meet and exceed the needs of our clients.”

From assisting wireless carriers with obtaining critical spectrum resources to deploy next-generation 5G services to securing millions of dollars in federal funding for broadband providers, Ms. Kung is well poised to help lead the practice as it evolves with the rapidly changing communications industry.

Ms. Kung draws on significant knowledge of the wireless regulatory landscape and experience at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to advise clients on, and help them comply with, FCC rules and regulations. She routinely advocates on behalf of clients to ensure that the agency’s rules align with their interests and business needs. With particular expertise on spectrum use policies and auction procedures, she has shepherded Mintz's clients through several FCC auctions related to next-generation 5G wireless technologies – including for low-, mid-, and high-band spectrum – as well as auctions for Universal Service Fund support to deploy broadband services in rural and unserved areas.

She is the recipient of a wide range of awards and recognition, including being listed in The Legal 500, Super Lawyers, and The Best Lawyers in America. She was also named a “Rising Star” by both Law360 and National Law Journal.

Mintz’s Technology, Communications & Media Practice was founded in 1981 and includes a vibrant group of lawyers and paraprofessionals with extensive experience representing broadband providers, wireless operators, and the nation’s leading trade associations for wireless, cellular, and Wi-Fi organizations, as well as actors in national defense and security on the international plane. The group focuses on cutting-edge communications, advises on legislative and regulatory issues, represents investors and providers in complex transactions, and develops and pursues litigation strategies to increase infrastructure deployment.
