Landmark Changes May Be Coming: State Senate Passes Bill Overhauling New York’s 126-Year-Old Antitrust Law

New York Law Journal published an article written by Jason P.W. Halperin, Robert Kidwell, Ellen Shapiro, and Kristina Van Horn about the New York State Senate passing the Twenty-First Century Anti-Trust Act (SB 335), an amendment to New York’s General Business Law. In the article, the attorneys outline the biggest implications of the proposed law, including what would be the most comprehensive pre-merger notification program of any state in the country.
Mintz secured a rare trademark temporary restraining order (TRO) on behalf of IYO, Inc. against OpenAI, Sam Altman, Sir Jony Ive, and IO Products, Inc. The order temporarily bars the defendants from using the trademark associated with their new product launch.
