Mintz Levin Attorney Douglas Hauer Named to Board of German American Business Council of Boston

Douglas Hauer, a Member in the Immigration Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been named to the board of the German American Business Council of Boston Inc.  Mr. Hauer will serve on the 11-member board for one year.

The German- American Business Council of Boston Inc. (GABC) is a non-profit organization of companies, business people, and other professionals dedicated to encouraging and cultivating German- American business and trade. Through its speaker series, seminars, and special events, the GABC provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and for business and professional contacts between its members. GABC membership is open to all interested professionals. Members include import and export managers, manufacturers, trade specialists, bankers, financiers, insurance agents, government officials, attorneys, consultants, educators and entrepreneurs.

Mr. Hauer’s practice focuses on business immigration law, related government investigations, family-based green card sponsorship processes, EB-5 investor visa filings, and corporate immigration policy development.  He has represented several German companies as well as the subsidiaries and affiliates of U.S. companies doing business in Germany in the banking, engineering, consulting and technology sectors. Doug speaks German and has been called on to give advice to German businesses establishing operations in the United States.  In addition, Mr. Hauer has represented multinational corporations in the financial services, technology, management consulting, specialty chemicals, insurance, defense, and engineering sectors. He has in-depth experience counseling corporate clients on the immigration consequences of complicated corporate restructuring and has drafted immigration provisions of acquisition agreements. He has also guided in-house counsel and human resources professionals on all aspects of U.S. and global immigration law and policy.
