Mintz Continues Growth In Toronto, Adds Experienced Tax Lawyer Katy Pitch

TORONTO – Mintz is pleased to announce that Katy Pitch, a tax lawyer, joined the firm’s Toronto office as a partner. Ms. Pitch comes from Wildeboer Dellelce, where she established and led the tax practice.

Ms. Pitch’s practice encompasses all areas of domestic and cross-border corporate income tax law for public and private companies. She serves as a trusted advisor to clients across a wide variety of industries, utilizing her deep problem-solving capabilities to analyze complex tax issues and provide practical, tailored business advice. Ms. Pitch works with companies in the financial services, consumer products, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, health care, energy, technology, fintech, and blockchain industries.

Ms. Pitch’s multifaceted practice includes a significant focus on tax issues involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and reorganizations, banking transactions, investment and hedge funds, and private equity matters. In her taxation of executive compensation work, she provides guidance on all aspects of the design and implementation of tax-efficient executive compensation plans for public and private companies, including equity and non-equity-based incentive compensation arrangements. Ms. Pitch also frequently advises companies and investment funds on taxation issues surrounding segments of the digital economy.

In addition, Ms. Pitch has completed Parts I and II of the CICA In-Depth Tax Courses with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

During March, Mintz took a significant step by launching an office in Toronto, comprising a team of accomplished lawyers including Mitch Frazer, Cheryl Reicin, Michael Akkawi, Eric Foster, and Lee Johnson, Ph.D. The firm continued its expansion the following month with the addition of Matthew Atkey, Brad Tartick, Bernard Kwasniewski, and Matthew Imrie. Over the past eight years, the firm has experienced remarkable growth, with profit per equity partner increasing by 130% and achieving consistent double-digit growth each year.
