For the first year, Mintz was ranked in United States: New York as a leading firm for both “Enforcement and Litigation” and “Prosecution and Strategy.” In addition, Mintz Intellectual Property Member Michael R. Graif was ranked as a leading individual for both “Enforcement and Litigation” and “Prosecution and Strategy.” This was Mr. Graif’s ninth consecutive year of inclusion in the WTR 1000.

Mintz’s national Trademark & Copyright Practice takes a strategic and practical approach to its clients’ domestic and international trademark protection. The firm’s professionals advise clients on brand strategy, protect and manage domestic and international trademark portfolios, police and enforce against potential infringers, represent clients in disputes and litigation, and assist clients with due diligence and licensing. The team also advises on trade dress, copyright, domain name, right of publicity, false advertising, unfair competition, and other related issues such as requisite regulatory approvals for brand names. Mintz trademark attorneys contributing to firm’s success and prestige in this critical area of law in the New York and national markets include Mr. Graif, as well as: Member Karen K. Won, based in New York; Member Andrew D. Skale, based in San Diego; and Member, Founder and Chair of the firm’s Trademark & Copyright Practice Susan Neuberger Weller, based in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Graif is an intellectual property lawyer who advises on trademark and copyright enforcement, technology and licensing transactions, and patent and trademark portfolio management as well as IP issues arising in business deals. His clients range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in a broad range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, sports & entertainment, and digital & social media. WTR 1000 wrote that Mr. Graif’s “impeccable work product and fruitful collaborations with other lawyers in the group have sent a clarion call to the market that the firm can handle complex enforcement and litigation briefs just as well as any competitor.”

Now in its eleventh year, the WTR 1000 remains the only standalone publication to recommend individual practitioners and their firms exclusively in the trademark field, and identifies the leading players in over 80 key jurisdictions globally. To research the market, WTR surveys hundreds of lawyers, attorneys and their clients involved with trademarks, and also gathers written submissions from firms detailing their recent activity in the field.
