Caroline maintains a bifurcated practice focused on complex insurance coverage litigation and cybersecurity and data privacy matters.
In her insurance coverage practice, Caroline is part of a leading national team representing insurers in high‑stakes claims and coverage disputes, including matters involving cyber, privacy, data security, social media liability, technology‑related exposures, general liability, professional liability, and other specialty lines. She advises insurers throughout the entire lifecycle of a matter — from policy drafting and endorsement negotiation, to claim analysis and monitoring, through arbitration, mediation, and litigation in federal and state courts. Caroline has handled coverage issues arising from hundreds of claims and regularly achieves efficient resolutions, including early dispositive outcomes and favorable settlements, on behalf of major domestic and international insurers.
Caroline also maintains a robust cybersecurity and data privacy practice. She assists clients responding to data security incidents, defends breach‑related claims, and advises on litigation risk following alleged data compromise or system intrusion. Her experience includes responding to regulatory inquiries, addressing third‑party demands, and providing strategic guidance to help clients mitigate exposure and navigate the regulatory and litigation landscape following cybersecurity events.
Prior to joining Mintz, Caroline was a litigation associate at a national law firm, where she represented clients in a broad spectrum of litigation and handled various matters before state and federal agencies. Earlier in her career, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Maureen McKenna Goldberg of the Rhode Island Supreme Court and the Honorable Brian Van Couyghen, Associate Justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court.
While earning her JD, Caroline served as a judicial extern to the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and a judicial intern to the Honorable Dennis J. Curran, a now retired associate justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court. In law school, Caroline was a research assistant for a professor in the legal practice department, an articles editor of the Roger Williams University Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Board. She was also a clinic legal assistant/USPTO student practitioner with RWU Law’s Business Start Up Clinic.
