Mike Renaud to Moderate UPC Session at IP Dealmakers Europe 2025 Conference

Intellectual Property Division Chair Michael Renaud will moderate a panel discussion on risks and opportunities at the Unified Patent Court (UPC) at the IP Dealmakers Europe 2025 conference in London. The session, entitled “A Case for the UPC: Managing Risk and Navigating the Path to Value,” will explore the following topics:

  • Building a UPC “playbook” for patent owners
  • When to use the UPC as a tool to drive licensing results
  • Mitigating the invalidity risk presented by the Central Division and by parallel EPO opposition proceedings
  • Coordinating the role of the UPC in a multinational litigation strategy

Session panelists include Jako Eleveld, VP, Head of IP Licensing, Philips; Bernhard Thum, Founding Partner, Thum & Partner; and Tobias Wuttke, Partner, Bardehle Pagenberg.
